Joan’s introduction: I’ve been teaching quilting since 1998 and designing quilts since 2005. A number of my designs have been published in major magazines. To pass on the knowledge of quilting and designing is a passion I share in my presentations and classes.
Locations for all events should be within 500 miles from Ajo, Az as I prefer to drive rather than fly. If any of the events are held within 120 miles of Ajo, Az, no lodging will be required, except in the event of bad weather. Round-trip mileage is required at the current federal rate. Locations farther than 120 miles of Ajo, Az will require lodging and round-trip mileage at the current federal rate.
Lecture/Trunk shows: All Lecture/Trunk shows are presented with actual quilts, not slides. My lecture is titled “Options Beyond the Pattern”. I share ideas on creating and expanding from an original pattern. This event lasts approximately one hour. I will need two volunteers to hold quilts and three tables to lay quilts and patterns on. Fee: $150 plus travel and lodging expenses.
Workshop/Classes: Any of my patterns can be a class project. One day classes are scheduled for approximately 6 hours with a break for lunch. Fee: $25.00 plus charge for pattern, per student and travel/lodging expenses as described above. Classes are limited to 20 students.
Lectures and classes can be combined for consecutive days. Please contact Joan for details.
Trunk shows only are possible and provided at no charge depending on location. It includes a short presentation to show quilt samples and patterns of my designs. Patterns are available for sale at the show. Approximately one hour is needed.
